Default 1 13/16" nuts and capos

About to take possession of my first guitar with a 1 13/16" nut. I capo ALOT doing accompaniment work. Was wondering if my capos are going to work well with this width? What are you guys using? Intonation and accuracy are paramount! I use Shubbs and the pads are 2", but up at the 5th or even 7th fret on guitars with 2 5/16" bridge spacing I can occasionally have E string issues.

Thanks

Get a twelve string capo. They work with everything

I am partial to Shubb and the Planet Waves triple trigger types.

All of my guitars have 1 11/16 and I use G7th Performance 2 Capo. See my Post "G7th Capo Company Love" for other testimonials to this wonderful Capo and company.

Intonation is never compromised and its one hand operation makes it very easy to put on, remove and move around if necessary.

There are other models as well to view all models go to

I use a standard Planet Waves adjustable tension capo on my one (Larrivee 000-50 TBS) 1 13/16" nut guitar. Works just fine?

My standard Shubb capo works on my 1 7/8", but I also have a Shubb for classical that's better (particularly further up the neck).

The only way I can see your intonation issue being the capo's fault is if it's clamped too tight.

This was my thought! I really prefer the Shubb system and the classical guitar model seemed perfect! I do not much like G7's. I have a couple, but experience a lot of intonation issues with them I Don't get with Shubbs.

My Stonebridge has the same size nut width. I use the Shubb Standard and the G7th Newport with no issues.

I use an Elliot. My guitars are 1 13/16th, but ordered them at 1 7/8th so they fit farther behind the nut when not in use.

Hi t-pin
The Planet Waves NS Pro ($12.75 on Amazon) will fit well, and does a great job with every guitar I own. The Elliott of course will do a superb job (mine does), but it is about $120 more than the NS Pro.

Two things people here have not discussed are neck profile (how deep is the neck profile), and saddle width. The saddle width will determine how quickly the fingerboard widens from the nut, and the depth of the neck will determine the fit of a capo around the neck.
