A couple of years ago, I had 2 gift vouchers for a nominated shop and after the rave reviews...here?, bought a gold Heritage and a chrome engraved Heritage, plus 2 cheapies to use up the balance of the voucher - a Shubb gold deluxe and a Shubb Capo Noir (all black).

I tried everything with both Heritages - but as soon as I bend a string when playing, the string stays bent! Every time.

I just grabbed the gold one from the failure capo drawer and tried it again, a couple of years later....strings stay bent after a blues bend. Useless, to me.

Ironically, I have been using the cheapies....Shubb gold and Shubb black ever since I bought them and can bend strings crazily!

I will try and get a photo or two later....

I'll admit, I don't bend strings in my acoustic playing - ever.

Let me know if you want to part with the gold one!

Sell?

That would mean selling the whole failure drawer/cupboard/spare room and admitting some kind of...........defeat.

Soon to be followed by selling extraneous guitars!

P.S. my 2 G7 Performance 3 capos (also black and gold - I don’t seem to be learning something here) - are the same with string bends. I like them for fingerpicking chords and melodies in something like my Ultimate Fake Book 1200 songs! But..no string bending....

Weird nobody else mentions this!

Shubbs are great for string bending, cheap too!

I was a G7th fan for years. Eventually my P2 capo wore out and wouldn’t maintain the same intonation. I went back to my Shubb and Elliot Elite. I still have a capo grave yard. I do really like my compensated G7th 12 string Newport capo. That can’t be beat.

The issue of string bending and how well harmonics ring out are the main two reasons that I prefer the Elliotts over the Heritage. I use my Heritage on one particular guitar that I play mostly finger style on. My Elliotts and Shubbs get used the most when it comes to capos.
Best,
Jayne

But you must admit, my gold G7 Performance looks beautiful on my Lowden O22 with its gold tuners!

Ok for chord melody capo-ing style! Just packed up....

Oh Oh! - problem bending then not returning photos - same with my Heritage capos:

As far as ease/speed of putting on and removing, how does it compare to your Paige?

Have you noticed any tonal differences compared to your other capos?
I have a Heritage and a Paige, and I see little difference in the ease or speed of putting them on or taking them off.

I prefer the Heritage, which I should, considering the price difference, but I do have one issue with it--it tends to slide around on the chrome flat wounds on my Gretsch, so I only use it on my Martin and I use the Paige, with the original black sleeve, on my Gretsch.

One of these days I might spring for the Shubb cradle-style capo, in gold, to match the hardware on my Gretsch!

Now up to $219.95 at Sweetwater!

I'm glad I bought mine when I did!

It does look great! And that's why I want a gold one: to look good on my Froggy Bottom with gold hardware!

Aha! Ha HaHA.....

I knew I had some more photos of the Heritage Gold from when I bought it!

Hold on to your seat, Methos, it is beautiful, even if I can't bend a string, so what?

If the budget doesn't reach the Heritage Gold, I really like my Shubb Gold Deluxe....and I can bend strings!:

There’s only one G7th capo model suitable for a Lowden - the gold Performance 3 with the Lowden logo…

I had the Shubb FineTube Royale (gold) and it was a great capo. Sold it off when I went to the Colorado system which eventually gave way to the Heritage. I think the Shubb FineTune yoke capos are THE best looking of all of them. They are like a piece of fine jewelry. And they do work very well.
