"Old" Martins are not the same as 6 year old Martins with failing binding.

I thought it was the reimagined Martins that had the issues. The HD-28 wasn't reimagined until 2017. The D-18 hadn't even been reimagined in 2011. I wouldn't expect any issues with that year, more than any other brand.

edit: I saw that sinistral already pointed this out but I don't know how to delete a post

Potentially flawed Martins are 2012 - today. Those with wood binding are not.

You know what i mean.
Structure: The assembly of any design in totality.
Integrity: The ability of said design to remain in the form it was designed to be in.
Anything short of those goals would be considered a lack in structural integrity, at least for my money.

I do try to read posts here as they are written. Re-interpreting what someone is actually trying to say isn't my thing.

Sorry if I offended you in any way.

I agree with you on this.

And to Kizz...I haven't seen anyone say or suggest that their Martin was "falling apart" because of the binding issue.
I get it. You don't like that Martin is taking a beating on this issue. Well, Martin owns the issue, they've had years to fix it.

I’m curious if there are any hard takeaways from the binding issue. For example are there certain models more prone to binding failure than others. You would think that tight waisted guitars like 00s and 000/OMs would be more prone to binding issues due to the more severe bends. But is this right? Which Martin models are known to be the most susceptible?

Models or custom orders with wood binding would be safe. All kinds of plastic binding would not.

It doesn't seem that the plastic binding failures are body shape specific. Obviously, Martin sells more dreds than anything else so they are going to appear more in the failure department. It would, however, make sense that the tight waisted guitars would be more failure prone. Martin probably knows...

Take your bashing to Martin.

There’s a difference between “bashing” and “stating facts”

You're OK with this quality issue on Martin's guitars.
I'm not OK with it.
As always, you're entitled to your opinion as am I.
