I had one for a while last year. Great guitar. I just decided I wanted an even smaller guitar for more variety and got my Larrivee parlor. No regrets but I do miss the M20 so I say go for it.

Nice little couch/jamming guitar - my wife has an early-80's USA F-20 maple/spruce that's an amazing acoustic lead instrument - and, as many of your fellow AGF'ers will tell you, like most hog-tops even better with a set of Martin Retro Monels...

Here's a recent topic covering the M-20:

I've had one for a few years and have really enjoyed it, especially for fingerpicking. It has that dry, woody, [add your own adjective here] tone that works well for a lot of different styles. I've found the D'Addario nickel bronze or Martin monels work well as far as strings. Today I was working on my thumbpick skills and getting a nice thump out of it. To me the satin finish feels like a pair of nicely broken in jeans. Also, gotta put a vote in for the sunburst version.

I had tried a few different ones and they were consistent enough that I ordered a B-stock from Chicago Music Exchange. There was just a minor finish flaw at the heel. Played really well out of the box. Probably would benefit from some adjustments as the action has crept up a bit.

They come with a humidifier in the case, but I had trouble with mine. The sponge material ended up getting moldy. I use the humidipacks now.

I had one for about a month: I loved it and would have loved to keep it, but my particular example had an issue with the truss rod rattling in the neck so it had to go back. I hadn’t gotten around to replacing it since it shared a lot of sonic territory with my Waterloo but I plan on getting another one at some point.

I think they are great guitars and I was playing one at the store the other day. I would buy one in a heartbeat. Had a very sweet sound to it, not dry or woody like I might have thought.
