Thanks for the sentiment Jamie. I am fortunate and humbled to be receiving this fine instrument for sure.

I received an update with pictures from Michel today. Here's what he said:

"There’s still a bit of cleaning up to do. Also rounding over the binding. But it gives you an idea. (the end graft is not installed yet, it’s not pushed in fully so I could it take it back out. It also still needs details)."

I am beyond happy with how this is taking shape!

Congrats again!

These sets & maker are out of this world.

Thanks Universe. I was able to play that Aboudib MA-D at the Woodstock show in October and hear Matt Thomas perform his magic with it there in a demo performancel. That guitar shares the same tonewood combination as my Modified Dreadnought and I expect Michel will deliver similar outstanding sonic results with this one.

Thanks Mike...I don't disagree with you. It was nice to see you at Woodstock in October and I hope to see you again at BIG later this year.

This Mod D will have a mahogany neck with a cross-grain Bois de Rose headstock overlay on the front with an ebony overlay on the back side.

Below is a picture of the cross-grain Bois de Rose overlay that Michel provided before carving the neck.

Thanks for having a look.

Talking Maybe someday but it's nice to dream.

Really high end...Sort of like the Tiffany of Guitars but who does not love Tiffany.
More than I can spend. Maybe I will win the lottery...

Enjoy that special creation!

Thank you Ron, Sam and Kevin for sharing your observations!

For this Mod D build we decided to go with a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish for the top, back, sides and neck. Michel recommended that luthier Virgile Pilon of Blind Guitars in Biarritz, France do the finish work for the guitar. After reviewing pictures of Virgile's work on his Instagram Page @blind_guitars, including one of his own Bois de Rose guitars, I was whole-heartedly in agreement with Michel.

Michel completed work on the body and the neck (except for the fretwork) and dropped it off with Virgile about 10 days ago and the first coat of nitrocellulose lacquer was just sprayed.

You can seen how the body of the guitar looks after one coat of nitro in the Instagram reel that Virgile posted today, HERE.

Of course there will be more finish coats sprayed and additional time for curing before Virgile can buff it out to it's final look and get the guitar back to Michel to complete his work on it.

Wow indeed. This will be an extraordinary guitar. That bois de rose, and the chip-carved rosette. Soooo nice.

Very happy to have played a very small part in this. Looking absolutely lovely, I've really enjoyed watching this guitar come together!
