Default Double NGD from Acoustic Vibes Music!!

I went to Acoustic Vibes Music in Tempe, AZ to pickup a Gibson Keb Mo today. After playing and accepting that I was going to get the Keb Mo, I got my hands on a Breedlove Oregon Parlor Ltd (all myrtlewood with maple neck). After the first note I knew I had to have that guitar. Do yourself a favor and find one of these parlors to play, you won't leave it in the store.

Thanks to Jeff, Kathryn, and Bernie at Acoustic Vibes Music, my favorite acoustic guitar store. Kathryn showed me how she takes the nice photos of the guitars and recommended a great restaurant, Haji-Baba (if you are ever in Tempe please go to this place, the food is sooooo good). Bernie got my action setup just right on my Keb Mo. Jeff gave me a great deal on both guitars.

I am on cloud nine! The Keb Mo has that boxy sound I wanted. Feels very good in my hands. The wide string spacing is actually very nice. I thought it would be too wide, but it is perfect. I have tried 4 different Keb Mo guitars and finally found one I liked. The Oregon Parlor is just crazy nice. Loud for its size, perfect balance, comfortable body and neck. I love what Breedlove does with Myrtlewood. I have a Breedlove Northwest Classic, which has a Sitka top with Myrtlewood back and sides and maple neck. I played a Oregon series Concert at a Guitar Center in Virginia and it sounded better than any of the other guitars in the shop. You have got to play a Breedlove Myrtlewood guitar, they are that good. I read that Mrytlewood is consistent too and that has been my experience.

Neat.
I have a Taylor with a pinless bridge and when I do a string change I cut the old strings so I don't drag the old string curly end that comes off the tuner post back through the hole in the bridge.

Acoustic Vibes is such an amazing shop, If I could I'd walk out with everything.

As a repeat customer of Acoustic Vibes I'll join in the praise for them. For the OP, congratulations on what must have been an exceptional day. Enjoy those guitars for years to come.

I owned a Keb' Mo', which did indeed have a great tone, but it wasn't for me. I have to say it was an absolutely beautiful guitar, and could easily be someone's favorite if they preferred that bluesy sound.

I do miss it!

Congrats on the double NGD. I've played the Keb Mo and was quite impressed. I never had a chance to play that Breedlove model but both guitars are might fine lookin'.

Congratulations. Very nice choices. I hope you get years of enjoyment from them.

I have bought 4 acoustic guitars from Jeff and staff. They let me play alone for as long as I wish, zero pressure, and a selection that could take weeks to fully play them all. It is difficult to walk out with only one.

So, I fully understand what happened to you on that day!

Well done!

In my case, it was impossible! The Martins in my signature resulted from my only visit to AV. Not complaining . . .
