Default NGD – Larrivée!

Finally! The Larrivée LV-03re that I bought two weeks ago has FINALLY arrived! It was quite an ordeal to get the right one. I was going to buy the one in the store, until I notice that it had a large crack in the front running right up to the bridge. I asked if they could get one from one of their other stores. The answer was yes, and they had one shipped in from California. When I went to pick it up, we opened up the box and found that it was a D-03 that had been tagged incorrectly as a LV-03re. So, we ordered a SECOND one, which also had to be shipped in from California. Review to follow. But for now, I’m very happy with it! here are the pics. I do apologize for the crappy photos. My ancient Blackberry just doesn’t do great pictures.

Here is a close-up of the wood grain on the top. The whole guitar is very tightly grained like this.

And here is a picture of my little Larrivée family:

What a gorgeous pair! A little envy going on here because I've been looking at a LV-03 for a couple weeks now! Just can't seem to get it off my mind!

Congrats on the new Larrivee!

You'll love it, Brad. That's a fine pair of Larrivees.

Thank you gentlemen! Yes, I'm really liking it. And the mahogany OM and the rosewood LV-03 seem to cover a lot of territory! The LV-03R is intended to become my "main" guitar, and I think it's going to fill that function nicely!

Blu, Congrats!! I recall your thread about receiving the dread by mistake. All that's behind now and you've got a great L.

Is this one of the ones made in Oxnard or in the old Vancouver facility? Not that it makes a difference.

Thanks Dru. I'm not sure about that. I don't even know how to tell. I'm thinking it is at least a couple of years old. But they have certainly updated some things on the Larrivee's since I bought the OM several years back.

The paper label in the soundhole should say Made in Canada or Made in USA.
