Default New Guitar Day! - Bedell TB-28-GS

Just thought I'd share with everyone about my new guitar

It's a really beautiful Bedell (at least, in my opinion), one of a limited run of 25 that has a little bit more finesse and dazzle to it than the normal TB-28-G. I'm really impressed with its tone and performance; it measures up to many much more expensive and supposedly 'better' makes and models. I put in a Fishman Infinity pickup as well; not bad at all. Plugged into my Ultrasound, I had a pretty great time playin' away.

The top of the guitar is Sitka, the back and sides are Indian Rosewood. Stats are here: http://www.bedellguitars.com/perform...coustic-guitar

Sorry for the terrible lighting and such; I'll try to get it outside in the sun for proper pictures tomorrow. Just wanted to at least give a glimpse!

I just peeled a 'Made in China' sticker of the back of the headstock a few minutes ago. I believe the company is based in Iowa, though.

I was just recently on their site looking at the OH-12-G Parlor.

Very nice guitar, PM. Enjoy and play it in good health.

Looking forward to seeing more (and better lit) images.

Got some quality outdoor photos of the guitar to show off, now. Also, it's worth mentioning that it came with one of the best hard cases I've seen to date. Very well padded and durable, but also very nicely detailed. It even has a little gold, analog hygrometer under the headstock so I don't need to run out and buy one! (Not that my area's climate gives me too much cause for concern, anyway.)

Here it is:

Default Bedell TB 28 GS

Bedell makes a great Box. They are out of Bend Oregon and are the same company as Breedlove. I just found on ebay a TB 24 GS. Same as the 28 only a Cedar top. Only 25 made. Got a smoking deal on it. I own a TB 18 and a 28 both are fantastic. The best guitars under a Grand. Period. I have three vintage Martins, 28 41 18, my performance series Bedell guitars get just as much play. Great company.

Were you kidding about the China sticker...? The trained woodworkers, many of whom were violin makers, are really upping the game. I'd rather have an Eastman OM than a lot of American guitars I can think of (don't worry, I won't start). Apparently no one has told the Chinese they can't build a quality instrument for under a grand. I can remember paying $400 for a Blueridge in the early 90s just because it had a solid top.

I used to have the OH-12-G all mahogany guitar. It was one of the sweetest sounding guitars I have owned but I ended up selling it because of the narrower nut width. They came out with a slot head all mahogany parlor but it was discontinued. Still trying to find a used one.
