Default Guild F512 - Finally realized my dream!

After nearly twenty years of dreaming, through pure serendipity I found my dream 12-string for sale at a local guitar shop. It's a 2023 Guild F512 with rosewood back and sides, antique sunburst finish, and an LR Baggs Anthem pick up (wasn't required but a nice addition).

I have one too - great full-sounding guitar. It replaced a Taylor 555 12 string. No comparison.

Congratulations Richard and also, welcome to the AGF!

I also own an F-512 and love it, but I really would have loved to have found a used version in the sunburst finish as you did. That's a great looking guitar!

Here is a playlist from my YouTube channel of 12-strings songs using my F-512 if you are interested. You're going to have fun with yours!

Richard, a stunning guitar from who I consider to be the best guitar maker in existence.

If that wasn't made to be played I don't know what was...

Congrats and welcome to AGF. I previously owned an F512 and foolishly sold it. It was before electronic tuners, and I couldn't keep it in tune...

When it comes to 12 strings, nothing can touch a USA-built Guild.

Congrats!

If you're going to be doing any airline travel with your new Guild, I strongly suggest you get a Hiscox PRO II case for it. Lightweight, exceptionally strong, and affordable (around $350 delivered to your door). Order direct from factory in Manchester, England.

Built by musicians FOR musicians. I've made many trips back and forth to the UK from San Francisco and my Hiscox PRO II case has protected my instruments perfectly.

A pic of my 1971 Guild F-312NT. Goes to the grave with me.

Lovely. Enjoy it and keep hold of it - they aren't making any more like that.

Well, that one was a 2023, and they still offer it for sale, so I'd say they ARE making more like that.

You'll love it, Richard. I bought mine new in 1975 and it still looks and plays like the day I took delivery; they're awesome guitars and likely the best 12-string out there today!

I owned a nice Guild 12 string for many years but my hands got too week and painful to play it and I sold it.
Mine was the older style with double truss rods and a very wide neck.

I understand that the new Guild 12 string guitars now have a single truss rod and a much easier to fret neck.

I now pay a Guild 8 string baritone which gives me a lot of the 12 string jingle but has a nice and easy to fret 1 3/4" nut.
I tune it D to D with medium gauge strings. That was the way I tuned my old Guild 12 string.
This set up works great for me.

Gotta love a nice Guild guitar.

beautiful guitar. I love my F512 Maple, but Rosewood is awesome too. Congrats. My GAS was cured upon acquiring my 12 string.
