Default Tips for playing over backing tracks

I'm a begginer that has written a half dozen or so originals. Their nothing fancy, just your everyday begginer chords and ametuer lyrics. I've began recording some of my songs with my digital camera so I can hear what they sound like from a different perspective. Well, it occured to me that as I'm listening to them on my computer that I could be playing along adding riffs and begin to start to try and solo and what not. I don't have any fancy recording equiptment, so this was the best bet for now. I just wanted to share that in case you've never thought to do it. It was alot of fun!!
