Default Neck tension and string gauge

I have a 514CE that I would like to keep tuned down a full step but I don't want to have to adjust the truss rod.

Would you replace the standard Elixer Lights with Mediums to compensate for the slacker tuning or would you keep the lights and adjust the trussrod?

I wouldn't do anything unless there is a problem. If the lower tuning doesn't cause buzzing or some undesirable change in the action, why not just leave it? Lower string tension won't harm a guitar.
