What strings ship on a Tak G-series?
Got a new (factory 2nd) Takamine EG363SC last week. Strings are light gauge, shiny and very twangy (which tells me they are not coated.) Wondering if a budget line like this uses a brand name or are they just generic? (I posted this on the Tak forum but that's not very active so it wouldn't surprise me not to get a response.)
FWIW, I tried D'addario coated strings last month on my Gibson Gospel reissue. I did not perceive that new string twang that I get with uncoated strings. I will probably go back to uncoated when they need changing. |

If I'm not mistaken, they ship with D'addario strings. That doesn't mean that they're not generic though. D'addario makes strings for lots of folks and in different quality levels.

According to the website FAQ (which I totally missed), they ship with EXP16 strings. They sound much twangier than the EXP11 (80/20 bronze coated) that I put on my Gibson last month.
