HG series are 00 if I'm not mistaken. Lovely wood. Soundwise, these project really well - although no more than the rosewood version.

It's a 000 12 fret.

This is a remarkably beautiful guitar, and I was immediately seduced. But, in spite of what JP claims, it is close miked, and that accounts for some of the liveliness and impressive attack. Nevertheless, wish I could get my hands on one to play. Bet it really is sensational.

I bought an alvarez because of him, but his reviews are becoming more and more like sales pitches if you ask me.

Never played one of Robin's 12 fret guitars but own two of his builds. SG-42 Master Grade (Adi/Brazilian Mahogany Dread) and SG-21 (Adi/Bubinga OM). Both stellar guitars IMHO. I'm sure that 000 12 fret is a great guitar...

close mic'd guitars are really a problem. Not just to JP. I think of the Tony P. Acoustic letter videos, where cheaper guitars sounded full and rich.
Another problem with online videos--volume ! You get no sense of how loud a guitar is, which can also impact our perception of the tone. I bet the Boucher is great though. |

JP's own words.. "stunning". Yes it is. JP makes that Boucher sing!
