Hey, I got one... Let's go sand off all that crappy green stuff on the Statue of Liberty!
I would Polish it not sand it.

But...

If this is only worth 1-1.5 million.

I do not see this being worth 1-1.5 million.

Also if Willie put a pick guard on Trigger I don't see it affecting value.

My friend Mark played with Willie Nelson on the Grammys two weeks ago. He texted me an up close pic of a Trigger from sound check. He also gave me one of Willie's guitar picks. Willie told him "don't put it under your tongue until you get home."

Great good fortune placed me in Texas in the mid to late 1970's. The music scene of those times may never be duplicated. A pickguard on Trigger? Sand some part of Trigger? You can't be serious! Willie Nelson is as Texas as Texas gets and Trigger is a large part of why that is so.

I'll never be a Willie Nelson but I would love to have a guitar that's been with me through thick and thin like trigger. Those that hate the look, you know exactly what it is when you see it.

I have never heard anyone get the sustain out of a nylon string guitar that Willie does. That guitar is like a prewar Martin. He has said it is the pickup and amp that give him that classic sound. But He can play it.

A few weeks ago I led a song in my church band and the leader of the band said I sounded like Willie. A few months before that they said my guitar playing sounded like Knopler. I just smiled and thought what a combination of extremes. I love Willie and love his old guitar. My first really good guitar was a 1927 Martin 018K. When I got it the bridge was held on with sheet metal screws. Even after Martin rebuilt it it was pretty rough but when you played it the sound was beyond amazing. That was back in 67. No logo on the headstock no case. Got it cheap cause the store owner said it wasn't a Martin.
