Default Delay pedal solutions to complications question...

Hey guys, I'm new here, and I couldn't find a thread that addresses this, but if there is one, I apologize for posting this.

So, I have a Hardwire DL-8 that sounds absolutely amazing. I recommend it to anyone, but the only issue is that if I need to use tap tempo mid song, I have to hold the pedal down and go through a dance to set it up. I am okay with the dancing, but the sounds it makes during the process kind of mess up the song...

Would it work to just use a true bypass looper so that I could set the tempo to the song, and then use the true bypass looper to turn the effect on? That way no one would hear the reandom tempo setting delay sounds and I could change tempo while the signal is not being affected... Is there any reason why this would not work?

Thank you guys so much for any insight that you may have!

Andy
