Greetings from a new member
Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I've read enough threads in the past few months to know I'd like to be part of this fine forum.
Retired a few years ago and now have more time for the fun things in life. Spoiling the grandchildren is tops on the list, while playing guitar and singing come a close second. Cut my teeth on a old Harmony 12 string circa 1970, and about a year later played out for the first time at a very crowded coffeehouse, doing my cowboy chord version of JT's Fire and Rain. Quite an experience that went very well and one that I still remember to this day. My Thanks go out to all the Mods and Charter members who keep things going. It's a fine place to hang out for acoustic guitars fans.

Hi Dominick!
Welcome to the forum! Glad you are here! I had a Harmony 12-string from about 1966 until I traded it in 1975 for the Guild F212 that I have now. That Harmony was a very cool old 12-string. Glad your first public performance went well. That is a big deal for anybody! - Glenn

Welcome to the forum!
I saw in your signature that you have a Loar. I've been really intrigued by Loars lately after seeing clips of JT Earle and Sara Bareilles playing theirs on nationally televised performances. How are you enjoying yours? Do you consider it to be a "beater" guitar compared to the Martins you own, or do you think of it as being on similar footing?

Hi Dominick!
Welcome to the madness. You will feel right at home, a friendlier forum of enthusiasts I have never encountered. As a fellow Grandparent, and one who has cowboy-ed through Fire and Rain myself, again I say Welcome! |

You should spoil the grandkids with your guitar playing and singing--that way your two priorities merge together.
