Default NGD - Resonator

When I was in college, my dorm mate across the hall had this neat looking metal guitar. I had no idea what it was at the time, I'm not sure he did either.

Forty years later, I still remember that guitar and low and behold, one of the large online sellers has a $250 Labor Day special. How could I resist

To be honest, this one sounds much better than my friends did, and looks just as neat.

Very cool and shiny! What type of cone is in it?

It has a 9-1/2" aluminum cone. I had thought that I might replace it, but it sounds pretty good as is.

p.s. The specs say the cone is hand spun, I wasn't sure exactly what that meant, but I did a bit of research and now see how that is done.

What a beautiful shine to it! Congrats. 40 years too late is better than not at all.

They should supply a pair of sunglasses in case you want to play outside on a sunny day.

Make sure you're not near busy traffic when you play, the sunlight off that could blind some drivers

Seriously, it looks great. Do you think you'll play it much?

Dru,

I'm more concerned with blinding pilots in low flying airplanes.

I do plan to play it quite a bit. I mainly like to play bluesy stuff, and it sounds great outside on the deck.

Very cool! Congratulations! I played one of those at an AGF gathering and was really delighted at how good it sounded.
