Default NGD. Taylor 12 fret slot head

Always liked slot heads, and a recent thread here pushed me into a GAS relapse. So far, I really like it’s playability and tone, including the ES2 plugged in. HUGE tonal range, but got it dialed in nicely.

Good looking guitar!

Congrats!

Is it a 24 7/8 scale length ?

Is it loud? Do you string it with 012 053 elixir light?

Very nice! I hope you enjoy it for a long time.

I have had my 322e 12 fret almost 5 years now and still love everything about it.

Play it in good health.

I just set my 522ce down for the afternoon. Love that thing. Comfortable and a nice warm tone. I'll bet it'll be your friend for a long time. Congrats.

Congratulations that will keep you happy for a long time. I love my Taylor 512 cedar/mahogany 12 fret, nice big warm tone, very un-Taylor like.

Thanks. Yes, 24 7/8”. Not sure whats on it now, but have a pack of Retro monel lights I may try.

For its body size, it is surprisingly loud. I dont know how much their ultra-thin finishing contributes, but I think theyre on to something.

The scale and 12 fret configuration make it a very comfortable player.

Its a mahogany top with tasmanian blackwood b/s. Yes, V class bracing. I’m aware there are different opinions on that, but time will tell…

I have the 2017 X braced 322 CE and just got a text from my luthier it is all set up. I had him set it up for G and D tunings.

I am not a big taylor fan, only had a 1999 814CE I used for giging back in 2000's and it was OK, but this is an exceptional guitar. I had another I got first from guitar center used, but it had some issues and sent it back. But this one I have now has way richer tone than the other one IMHO. It is hard to find a nice 12 fret with a cutaway, plus this has the slot head, good electronics and a beautiful sweet tone. Be fun to compare the X to the V one someday, guessing yours might be tad brighter??? Enjoy!

Love the ebony nut on this… I know a small detail but looks right to me.

Congratulations!
