I like ads like that. I have got some good bargains from people who do not know what they are doing, including from thrift shops. I am confident that if the guitar does not suit me I can resell it for more by writing a good ad and taking good pix. This applies to many other things besides guitars, like cars.

I have sometimes tried the ridiculous offer method, offering half or less the asking price. It does not work often but it might. I don't try that with big guya who have tatoos on their knuckles. - Stevo

We had a Craigslist ad in denver for a “Yani”. Showed a picture of the label with a string obscuring the r…

Sold for $65 because someone got to it before I warned the seller. A short google of the correct name and model put it’s used value around $1500….

Some one got a deal and I feel bad for the seller.

Seeing an add with lots of pictures of the guitar's parts but not even one full frontal shot.

It drives me nuts when someone post pics of a guitar that they are asking thousands for, and posts a pic of the Brazilian rosewood back where you can clearly see:

1. A bright reflection of the ceiling fan light
2. A mirror like image of the photog holding his phone to take the pic
3. Bare feet at the edge of the photo

The only thing you can't see is what the back of the guitar actually looks like.

I just read a CL ad in which the Martin guitar is described as being "in mint condition for its age."

What does that even mean?

Back in the day i used to leave one string untrimmed, so i could place my filter tipped cigarette on it while playing.
Was cool back then, think keith richards did it too

Blurry pics. Makes me think the seller is trying to hide something or they have no real interest in selling. No reason with today's technology to not get a half decent pic. Call a friend if you have to.

Hilarious. I used to just stuff mine under the low E, between the post and the nut.

Super common in electric guitar partscasters. You'll see the pickups, the guard, the bridge, a piece of the neck but will likely be missing a full body shot.

Yamaha LL26 hand crafted in Japan. I’ll just lie it down on this stone floor for the photos...
