The Official GS Mini Upgrades / Mods / Customizations Thread [Part 2]

Thank you to everyone on this thread for the inspiration and for sharing your knowledge.

As of today, my GS mini has achieved its final form...

The only things I've done to my Mini were ebony truss rod cover & ebony bridge pins. I ordered them right from Taylor customer service, less than $25 shipping included.

I might someday upgrade the nut & saddle to bone, but that's way down the line. I'll be doing that to my '86 Guild D-25 before I do that to my Mini. The Guild still has same plastic nut & saddle it left the factory with 35 years ago, gone WAY PAST yellow, and onto brown at this point.

Last May (2021), for my daughter's GSmini Koa: swapped the Pings for 510's Cosmo Black ( my Fav tuners... just wish I could get them in a six o'clock position for my J45)... and matching strap button.

I will play along. My GS Mini Mahogany is almost a year old.

Last night I changed the strings to Martin Retro lights and dropped in some Taylor Ebony and Abalone pins.

Minor upgrades but look nice enough.

You can definitely consider removing the pickguard unless your a hard strummer

Not a hard strummer. I rarely use a pick with an acoustic.

As much as I love the grain pattern on the top of this mini- I am not one to tinker too much. I will leave the pick guard on unless it starts to peel or have other problems.
