Default Howdy

Just saying howdy to the group. Have been reading posts for a while as I made up my mind which acoustic guitar to purchase. After trying various Gibson, Taylor, Breedlove and Martin's, the sound of the 210e made the decision for me.

I look forward to reading more of your thoughts in the next few months.

Sincerely,

Earl

Welcome to the AGF!!! I like the looks of that Ibanez. Those Artcore models are good value for the money.

Thanks for the welcome riorider and stratokatsu. I have always been a "function over form" kind of fellow though esthetics are not lost on me. I absolutely love the Taylor sound and have been playing almost non-stop all day. To quote John Lennon, "I've got blisters on me fingers!"

The Ibanez was sitting on a wall with a bunch of Gretsch’s looking very lonely in a store that favored guitars shaped like lightning bolts and colors straight out of H.R. Pufnstuf. She was covered with dust and had been marked down to < ½ of sticker price. I was looking for a hollow body; she sounded great so I felt it was my ethical responsibility to get that great musical instrument home where it would be appreciated!

Welcome to AGF! From the looks of your wall you'll fit in just fine. Your new 210 looks great.

You do realise the whole of the room will be covered in guitars if you hang around here for any length of time.

Welcome!

Default Howdy Earl!

That's a nice collection you got there! Is that a "Rogue" mandolin"? How do you like the sound?

My wife bought that for me a couple of years ago. I had always toyed with the idea of playing mandolin and the small size seemed like it might be a plus since I travel quite a bit on business.

The sound seems ok for a cheap instrument. My wife is pretty smart so she got this inexpensive trial that would measure my true interest in playing before laying down more significant money. Good move on here part; I doubt that I have spent more than 10 hours with the little guy. I may re-string it to match my guitar to facilitate easier playing.

Earl

Default Welcome

Welcome Earl...nice looking start on a nice collection. You sound like the kind of person who will soon need a bigger wall for that collection. If you hang around the AGF long, you will get bad ideas...like MORE reasons to buy more and more guitars.

In any event, welcome and Happy New Year.
