Default Martin or Taylor??

If given a choice between those two........this should be fun. LOL

This is not meant to be a bashing thread so dont start. I have both and love both. I am just curious what the overall sense on the forum is.

They both have a lot to offer, depending on your playing style, how you're going to use it, etc. I have both, too.

Regards, Glenn

I agree. There should be a "both" option...

Ok, I'll bite..

Since I'm a Taylor lover I voted accordingly. BUT, I know of a few Martins that I would dearly love to own. This thread needs a both option, because I would be a happy camper to be able to own both.

I know there alot alot of people who like both. And I thought about putting that option, but I am curious to know the common consensus if given the choice of only picking one out of the two to use as an "Everything" guitar.

And giving a "Both" option would end up with most people voting both. LOL

For the sake of completeness, I think there also needs to be a "neither" option, as there are much cheaper guitars that in my humble opinion are at least as good!

Now I'll go and retire back into my shell!

This comes up from time to time. For instance, here's a previous thread.

For the record, it's Martin for me.

I tend to like big boomy dreads lately so I voted Martin. OTOH I really like what Taylor's done with the introduction of the GS, and they sound sooo sweet with cedar tops.

If it was just these two, Martin because I like Bluegrass. Fortunately in the real world there's a lot more choices! :-)

What about a "neither" option? This is the problem with the polls here. The only option I'd ever choose is always missing ;)

Many people may make their selection according their playing style whereas some go for aesthetic value. For my ears, I take Martin. For my eyes, I'll take Taylor. Since the poll is a forced choice, it does help people to make up their mind which is a quailty of staying focus. I give weight to my ears in this case.
