Default MIJ Sigma DM-18

There was a thread a few days ago where someone was questioning whether or not this guitar was a MIJ guitar. I purchased the guitar in 1990 from a buddy’s shop in Louisiana. It was not uncommon for acoustics in those days to sit in shops for a long time.

This Sigma was passed down to my son 10-12 years ago after I played it hard for 20+ years.

At any rate take a look at perhaps one of the Sigma gurus can tell what year it is.

It was me and it was because you started by writing "My son still plays my old 1990 MIJ Sigma DM-18" where I corrected that if it was a 90 model it must have been made in Korea because they were made there from approx. 1985. I think you misunderstood me and it also turned out that you "purchased" it in 1990. From the serial number it also looks like it is from 1984, where you then purchased it in 1990 :-) It looks nice.

I need to take it over to my tech for my son. It needs frets and a setup. Per your info, its a 40 year old guitar now and its probably due for a tune up.
