Shubb capo in brass. I like the look of brass with a wooden guitar.

My Elliott "Tony Rice" capo... The Hybrid is nice, too, but I use the TR most.
Victor & Shubb are almost as popular and they are always in a case or bag with me at gigs. If I've accidently left the TR at home, it's no biggie. |

+1 on the G7th P2. My 2nd choice is Kyser.

I've tried dozens over the years. I have specialty partial capos by other makers (Kyser in particular) but the only capo you'll find in ALL my guitar cases is Shubb.

For me, my all-time favorite is the Shubb Deluxe:
Shubb Deluxe Here's their explanation of the features of that design, and why that's now been transferred to their regular C-1 capo: ˚˚˚ Recently I took delivery on a new Shubb Fine Tune capo, which is essentially their refinement of the classic stirrup-style capo design that's exemplified by the Elliot capos: Shubb FT Guitar Capo It's a superb stirrup-style capo, but after using it a bit I find I still prefer the Shubb Deluxe. However, I also got a Shubb F5 banjo/mandolin capo at the same time I got the FT, and find that it's the best capo I've ever used on mandolin: Shubb F5 Banjo/Mandolin Capo The regular Shubb banjo capo works well enough on mandolin, but the F5 capo works better. Another stirrup capo I own and use on some guitars is the John Pearse Ol' Reliable: John Pearse Ol' Reliable Capo But my all-time favorite all-around do-everything-you-need-it-to-do capo remains the Shubb Deluxe. If I could only own one capo, that's the one I'd choose. Hope that makes sense. Wade Hampton Miller |

Well, I've switched teams. For years, the only capo I used was the Shubb. But I've recently started using an Elliot hybrid. It's now my favorite.
I haven't gotten the new Shubb stirrup style yet, but Christmas is coming. By the way, the Cat Eyze is a really good stirrup, too.

WOW Halfway down page 2 before the Planet Waves NS comes up. You people are crazy with your medieval torture devices. The NS is sleek and efficient. Its pressure is easily adjustable. It fits comfortably in a pocket. Reasonably priced. DONE !
