I'm not one who is religious about what strings they use.
On my D-18 and 00-18 I use Martin Lifespan Phosphor Bronze. It's what came on them and I like the sound so I keep using them. The bonus is they last and last and...

My Larrivee came with Elixirs and they sound good on that guitar and haven't needed to change them yet.

My 00-15 is sporting Martin Monels, which sound great on that guitar.

The theme being I like treated (or not easily oxidized) strings as I've done the wiping down and using Fast Fret or something similar (for many years) to keep the strings alive and for me it's just not worth it.
The current iterations of treated strings are pretty great, I think.

It varies from guitar to guitar in my experience. My German spruce/mahogany Kramer sounds best with 80/20s. It just has a cleaner tone without losing any of the warmth with the 80/20s.
FWIW, I always try a variety of string types on each of my guitars to see which is best and sometimes the results surprise me.
Best,
Jayne

Another vote for Martin Monels - a natural fit for any hog-top...

Don't pay much attention to it, but usually end up with 80/20s. Strings on my mahogany guitars tend to sound as good as I'm playing.

I look forward to trying some of the strings recommended here. I’m always experimenting with new strings to see what my guitars like best.

I like XS PBs on mahogany-backed guitars (and guitars with great clarity). Darker sounding guitars get 80/20s. Any guitar that is overtone-heavy gets Martin monels. These are all working well for me at the moment.

I would agree with the Monels on a 000-18 or 000-15m. I have Monels on both of these guitars and they sound great.
