Default Does anybody have the Taylor bomber jacket?

I need to spend my Taylorware Gift Card, and I'm thinking of getting that jacket.

Is it any good?

Does it run big or small? I gotta decide whether to get XL or XXL.

I would consider the size generous.

Mine arrived defective, an unsewn pocket opens directly into the lining. Impossible to repair without dismantling the garment. I only got the run around from calling Taylorware, getting nowhere, emailing customer service, being referred back to Taylorware, and getting nowhere with them again. I was courteous in writing and on the phone and was told they would get back to me. They didn't. Called again and it was like starting all over, and still got nowhere. The thing is now a year and a half old, still in mint condition and essentially unused.

I am totally done wasting my money on Taylorware.

I have one. Lotsa pockets for whatever. I wear mine all the time and have had no issues. I would say that it runs a bit snug, but in a good way.

So if you normally wore an XL and didn't care for clingy garments you would go with XXL ?

I'm in the same boat as the top poster.

Thanks!

John

Sorry to hear your dilemma. My experience was completely opposite with Taylor, regarding a frayed-collared workshirt. They sent a new one and payed to have it mailed back. Very nice and attentive about it just like they've been with every customer service request for me. I would hope you wouldn't have to write a song about it and post it to YouTube!!

DMZ, I'm completely at a loss to explain this, too. It's completely unlike the rest of my extensive experience with the Taylor Company. Two departments and multiple personnel let it slip though the cracks. It's not like I've gone out of my way to bash Taylor; I was mute for quite a while until someone else raised the specific topic.

Since Taylor doesn't seem to be willing to step up to the plate on this I'm of two minds as to what to do. I could probably pay someone to fix it or I could just donate it to the Disabled American Vets. Right now it's just taking up closet space and I get mad every time I see it. I thought about pulling a Dave Carroll, but I'll be the first to admit I'm no Dave Carroll. Oh, well. "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."

Since then I called them to discuss a malfunctioning ebonoid 12 string tuning button. They sent me a whole set of 12 gold tuners for free! It seemed like a completely different company when I was trying to rectify the bomber jacket situation.

Still, after dozens of T shirts, golf shirts, denim shirts, sweat shirts, mechanic's shirts, hats, CDs, DVDs, denim jackets, mugs and I can't even remember what else, if Taylorware isn't going to stand behind their product then I'm all done with them.

If anyone else can comment on how roomy the XL bomber jacket I would appreciate it.

It could make a nice warm WI winter jacket.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

As I said in my initial comment on this thread, I would consider the size to be generous. It could be a little deceiving though, because the thick insulation is also quite generous. I don't know what size you are, but if you do okay with XL jackets and coats then I would expect an XL would be fine for you. If XLs are sometimes a bit snug, especially with WI winter layering then maybe an XXL would be better. I bought the XXL.

Remember, it is a jacket. It is not a parka or full length coat. An XXL may buy you a little more length.

I hope this helps and I sure hope you have better luck with it than I did.

Best,

David
