Default Taylor 12 String Tuner Replacement Buttons?

Anyone know the correct size of ebony wood tuner buttons for a GA3-12?
I’d like to reduce the amount of headstock weight.

They do not, nor do they have any info about which ones to get.
Called them last week.

Smile Maybe…

Try calling the repair dept at Taylor El Cajon. Maybe someone there can suggest the right ones.

Good luck

Paul

Good tip. Is that a different line than their customer service? I didn’t know that was an option.

If you can post closeup front, side and back pics of the headstock and tuning machines, someone here will likely have knowledge of what the actual manufacturer is (i.e., Schaller, Gotoh, Grover, etc.). Then you can usually get buttons from the OEM or aftermarket.

I've replaced tuning machines and/or buttons on several instruments (no Taylors though). The most difficult part is always identifying what brand you're dealing with.

I have an irrational antipathy to mother-of-toilet-seat (pearloid), white plastic and metal tuning machine buttons so I've replaced all of mine with wood, faux tortoise or black ones. I used to get ebony buttons from LMI but they're now out of business.

I was told the company Hanchang is the manufacturer of the Taylor branded tuners. Their site is http://www.hctuner.com/2018_HANCHANG_Brochure.pdf
I believe the tuner model is SG614.
