better is relative. better as in specs? most of the asian guitars are right around the same price point. some are more, some are less.
i just got an eastman yesterday (ac320), and am very happy with it, especially for the bargain. no, it's not a 5k guitar, but for what that amount of money gets you these days, it's very affordable, and the specs are more than adequate. Last edited by dmoss74; 08-12-2011 at 11:47 PM.

I like them a lot even though I have no plans to own one. If they made a 14 fret 00 I would be all over it. I've played them side by side with a few high end guitars (Goodalls, upper end Martin, etc.). I personally like the Eastmans better.

Are they good? Yep.
Can you get "better" for that price? Depends on what you think is "better". There aren't too many other brands I would be looking at at that price range.
