A rose by any other name is still a jumbo.

And a Gibson Jumbo is still the first and best, especially a rosewood one.

Guild made the first guitar specifically designated as a "jumbo." Gibson had already been marketing a "Super Jumbo" for a couple decades, but a year after Guild came out with its jumbo, Gibson redesignated theirs as the same size.
Actually the first guitar to use the word jumbo in the name was the Lakeside Jumbo introduced by Washburn in 1912.

Gibson also introduced a 'Jumbo' model in 1934, and was referring to their flagship flattop as the 'J-200 Super Jumbo' in literature as early as 1950.

In both cases, Guild was a trend-follower, not a trendsetter.
