D’Adarrio XS PB Lights vs Elixir Nano PB Lights

I've got a set of XS mediums on deck for my D-18. Can't wait to try them. I've always had a mental block against coated strings. Are these going to be the ones that turn me to The Dark Side??

Long time Elixir user (22+ years). I tried the XS strings because I used to use nothing but D'Addario PB Lights for decades.

I couldn't get them off quickly enough. The feel was terrible and the tone abysmal.

Different strokes and all that...
