Default GSmini hog - What bag is included now?

I thought the 2014 mini's get the hard gig bag. I notice I got the soft gig bag ($17 added on - discontinued on receipt) on a purchase yesterday at GC. I can't find the answer on the Taylor site and don't trust GC...

Does anyone know?

Thanks

I just bought my hog mini a few months ago at my local Taylor dealer and I got the hard gig bag.

Is that a GC switch to increase profit? I got a Holden Village from the factory in February with the hard bag. It is a awesome bag, I would not accept anything else.

This is the only bag I know of for the mini. Does it look like this?

The guy at GC gave me a great price on the gs mini ($50 off "because you seem like a cool lady")

The one brought up for me was in the box in a gig bag inside the box. It looks like the same type gig bag I got with my baby Taylor around '00. I wasn't thinking about the gig bag at the moment... Paid and love the guitar.

Today I looked at the receipt - the gig bag serial has "discontinued' under it and $17 added to the total. Made me take a second look.

My receipt says the guitar is a '14 model. I dread going back (woman, mid '50s, usually ignored for an hour before being helped - even though I bought a 314 ce from them 4 weeks ago. I have GC ptsd and should know better.)

There was a previous thread (maybe on another forum) from someone who purchased from GC and they sold him the Mini with a Baby bag. But it turns out, he had actually gotten the Baby price on the Mini--or so he said--someone at the store had made a huge mistake and run it up as a Baby, so they kept insisting they had given him the right bag. I don't know how in the world GC makes these kinds of mistakes.

I know how it feels to be ignored in a music store, or even worse be taken advantage of because of being a middle aged female. However, based on my local GC stores, I think GC is really trying to improve their customer service. Don't be afraid to go back and demand the proper gig bag. There is no mistaking it--it has "GS Mini" embroidered on it.

Thanks Dulcilo - Can I be sure when I call that I was suppose to get the hard gig bag and not the soft one? It says mini gs on it, but definitely the soft version.

If I had some documentation on the 'net that says new ones are shipped with the hard gig bag, not the soft (as they once were)? I want to be sure.

Thanks for everyone's response.

At the bottom this says hard bag.

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GSMiniM

This also says hard bag and it is the same as in the image above.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Taylor-GS-Mi...item4d1e110e0d

It is the same bag I have with my spruce top, I like the bag.

that tan gigbag/hardbag is the same one I got with all 4 of my minis( probably all 5 if the HV unopened in its box has it. I assume it would)

My 2014 HV GS Mini shipped with the "hard" gig bag, and it has GS Mini embroidered on it.
I just compared it with the hard gig bag on my 214ce, and the one on the Mini is not as good a
quality - when you squeeze the top, it will compress about two inches, and the 214ce bag will
only compress less than 1/8th of an inch.

Taylor ships every GS Mini with the case shown below, says GS Mini right on it. Is this the case you have?

Possibly.

And GC always splits the cost of a guitar between the guitar and case . . . this is for inventory control purposes.

On every used guitar I've bought, they charge me a couple of pennies for the case. On new guitars, the cases are somewhere in the $100 to $200 range . . but the total of the case and guitar always adds up to what the agreed upon purchase price was.

Forget hard versus soft bag, the only correct bag is the one shown in post #11. If they gave you something else it's incorrect, go back and insist on the correct bag and at no additional cost. If there is a problem return the guitar and get one elsewhere. I don't know what GC is doing with cases but it's ridiculous.

Posts 4 and 11 have the correct bag pictured (GSMini embroidered on it). As James says above it is a hard bag, but not as hard as the one with the 100/200 series, which are a step up. The Mini bag is very good.
