Default Which luthier has the longest wait list?

I know Kim Walker has the wait list for about eight years. Is this the longest one? Who else also has the long wait list that you know?

This guy, something like 13 years and counting, but apparently he has issues: http://www.talkbass.com/threads/darr...aiting.256053/

I think Wayne Henderson is about 10 years, without a baked good bribe of some kind.

T.J. Thompson's was pretty long at one time - not sure where he's at now.

Classical builder in Eric Sahlin, over in Spokane, has about a 10 year waiting list. As I understand a spot on the wait list does not guarantee you a price, only a place on the list. He then contacts you a year or so out and tells you what the guitar will cost. If you decline, he goes to the next name on the list. I don't know what they cost at the moment.

From the examples that I've played, if I was into nylon string guitars...

Anything longer than about 3 yrs and I'd lose interest and have already bought/sold/traded something just as cool.

I do. I haven't learned how to build a guitar yet, so the first one's going to take while.

And don't forget to account for inflation when you write that check

About twenty years ago, I could have ordered a Nick Kukich built guitar.
Base price was $2400. I was scared off by the two year wait. Wonder what that guitar would be worth today?

I hear you. Not sure I'd wait three years though. I'd just go find a boutique guitar that did it for me and move on down the road.

Lynn Dudenboestal had a very long list at one time. Thought Traugott also had a very long one.

Robert Ruck and Jeffrey Elliott closed their new order list some years ago.

The highest end classical guitar market is more complicated, potentially more difficult to purchase from than the steel string.
