Default Pics of my GC5

Hi guys. I just got a new GC5 a couple of days before and I wanted to post some pics. It was between this and a GC8, and I went with the mahogany, cedar combo. It's a great sounding guitar.

Sorry, I'm not the best photographer.

VERY nice I bet you'll enjoy that one for a very long time.

I can't stop thinking about a GC8.....Father's Day is coming soon, right?

Yea, I really like the GC8. It was a tough choice, but I am happy with this one.
A GC* seems like the perfect Fathers's Day Gift!!

Very Cool!
I own two Grand Concert's a 312-ce & xxx-ke. They are fine guitars, perfect size!

Hey now -- that's a real beauty!!~!

How would you describe the sound on the GC5? I'm thinking very seriously about one myself... I would really like to know your thoughts & opinions on it.

Also, how would you describe the quality of the Mahogany & the Cedar used on that series? The woods look very nice sweet in the pics.

thanks!

Well that sure is something! I've never really been a cedar fan but that top looks incredible on that GC. I really like the slotted headstock as well... really sets the guitar apart from a typical Taylor. Hope you enjoy it

No the photos are good, but there is none of the Mahogany! It might as well be a GC7. Chop, Chop! That Taylor-esque half front/half side type photo will suffice.

I'll try to get photos of the back and sides up today. The mahogany looks beautiful, some of the best I've seen.

As far as the sound, It's extremely responsive to touch. More so than the GC 8 which I was considering. Fingerpicking wise, it's fantastic. The notes seem to jump out. I'm surprised at the amount of punch when I flatpick. I play a D-35 with my bluegrass/old tyme band, and I'm used to that guitar jumping right out in front of the mando's, but didn't expect this guitar would be like that. I would'nt use it for that purpose, it's more for when I do my solo gigs. It also is a nice strummer. I can't really give a better description. Maybe after a bit I will come up with a better description, but I can say I think this guitar is great. I'm still trying to get use to the Expression system. Not sure about it yet.

I am a big fan of the slotted headstocks on the GC series. I think that was a great move by Taylor... if for nothing more than looks.
Great looking guitar. Enjoy it.
