Did Gibson Change J-35 Recently?
Looking at the pictures, the J-35 appears to now have a cut-through saddle, a solid black backstripe, and also a white end pin (does it even have a pickup?).
Did I miss a memo about the changes? http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guita...20j-35&index=1 |

My recollection is that about three years ago it was re-introduced, after being discontinued for several years. And yes, the current one does have a pickup.

Yeah, I was wondering whether that re-introduced model has been changed for 2015; looks different in the ad.

I'm seeing what you're seeing MD, also the label is orange in the pic from the link you posted, definately not the 2013 J35 modern classic I own, mine has no backstrip, a drop in saddle and a white label...

Interesting. This is the third change in the J-35 I've seen since its appearance as a reissue.

Compared to mine and the ones at Sweetwater, the saddle and backstrip are definitely a departure. Good eye, MD. This is news to me, as well.

Definitely changed it some. I got mine at the end of 2013, and it doesn't have the back strip. It also has a white label. Classy changes though. I like the way it looks.
