Bluegrass does require discipline. I read where, as a boy, Earl Scruggs and his brother would start a tune back to back in the front yard, each would walk around the house in opposite directions, and they would try to be in time when they met at the back of the house.

Default Bluegrass?

Lester and Earl, The Country Gentlemen, The Hillmen. All others need not apply.

Google Clarence White... Listen to some of his stuff. "I am a Pilgrim" is classic Clarence.

Google is your friend. I just googled "bluegrass Lansing" and came up with a page of interesting stuff. This one looks like it covers a lot.

Fan of bluegrass, but also like the "newgrass" as the genre shifts, grows, and expands.

Here's an interesting one.

i couldn't agree more. i have one of his cd's in my car and i never change it, its all i listen to. just hoping some of it will rub off.
i think it has like 30 songs on it. no singing just straight guitar flat picking, the last song is a medley played on the mandolin.

Speaking of Clarence, I found this video of the old band "Muleskinner" on YouTube not long ago. Considered a bluegrass super group, I really wish they put more stuff out with this lineup . Clarence and Peters voices blended so well, and really this is exactly how a bluegrass group should sound. Good examples of Clarence's flatpicking sprinkled throughout as well

And "I am a pilgrim" just because!
