I recently rediscovered Fender picks after trying a bunch of picks made of fancier materials, and to my surprise I found that the Fenders hung right in there tone-wise and feel-wise.

Well that was sweet. Sorry I missed it. I play nothing but celluloid #346 picks for that last 50 years. Of course I've got a stash of them already, as I've read celluloid will soon no longer be an option. It was the first plastic invented. It was used for everything; billiard balls, combs, hairbrushes, etc. Now it's only use is guitar picks and pickguards. A block of the stuff takes something like 3 months to cure.

I've tried everything, but always come back to celluloid.
