Default Favorite guitar store visit

Just thought I would report in from my recent trip to Nashville. I visited Gruhn guitars twice for several hours. It was great, every guitar I picked up was set up beautifully and played so nice that it was easy to compare.

Here are my favorites:

1943 D-18 - had the best snap

Collings D1V - the best of the new guitars I played - light and airy, nice punch

Martin D-21 - not sure of the year, I think in the 60s, also had that dry snap feel to the notes

Also, the best mandolin on the wall, by far, was a Collings, not sure of the model number.

One other thing of note: I played two brand new D-18s and one was amazing and the other, not so much. It was flat.

Did he still have the 1924 00-45? If so, I hope you played it. I'll never forget the way that one sounded.
