No... Search Oscar Schmidt Sovereign . You don't want a Harmony Stella... I mean, maybe you do, they're loads of fun if you get a solid one, and sound great in that boxy kind of way. but if you want a legendary guitar, look for an Oscar Schmidt. And as always do your research.

I know the Gibsons and the Martins have the pedegrees, but you might want to go out and try the Taylor 322. It is the Grand Concert body size w/ a solid Sapele back and sides and a solid Mahogany top. 1-3/4" nut w/ the comfort of the Taylor neck as opposed to some of those "Baseball bat" necks you might get on other brands. Ebony fretboard and bridge. Without electronics you can find them new for around $1200.00. These guitars have a tone that you usually have to pay double that that price to get.
If you want to pay a bit more try out the Taylor 522 12 fret slothead. All solid Mahogany back, sides and top. Get it w/ the subtle edge burst and it is a sweet looking blues box. The tone on this has more bottom end due to the 12 fret design pushing the bridge back further on the lower bout. I would take the pick guard off to give it a more authentic look.

While I agree most of it comes from the fingers, there are certain guitars which naturally sound more 'suitable' for the blues.
Have to admit the tone of my 43' LG-2 just oozes the blues, you can literally feel it in the guitar. My 00-15 also is right up there, along with most of my other Gibsons. On the other hand I just dont feel the blues coming through when I play Taylors, just cant get the bluesy character out of them, or rosewood dreads with heavy overtones. Small box, with a dry, thumpy tone, mahogany b/s to my ears just sounds ideal.
