I wonder why Martin didn't put a tuner in the 2 millionth guitar headstock instead of a clock. I mean, that seems like a no-brainer...

That lguitar isn't really about being played. It's marketing and look what we can do.
Additionally, they see a lot of crossover possibilities here. A lot of people who are the possible owners of a guitar like that also are into high end watches. Not too many people collecting high end tuners.
