Default What model 12 string is Ryan Adams playing here?

Currently in the UK, promoting his new record, and apparently is just showing up at places, like Treadmill's Books in London, and playing solo acoustic.

Does anyone know the model 12-string he is playing here?

Another picture of it, here, a bit further down on the page.

Looks like a 12-string version of a Gibson 160. I can't help much beyond that.

Pretty sure it's a Frankenguitar. Meaning it was put together out of many others. Or they were custom built for him.

Looks like a vintage EKO Ranger 12 string to me

Here is one that looks nearly identical but without the tailpiece

Here is one with a tailpiece but no electronics knobs

I believe that's an Italian made Eko Ranger 12-string.

Fantastic everybody, thanks for tracking that down.

I wonder if Adams bought one of these while he was in England from this guy:

I have never ever seen him play a EKO, let alone a 12-string, until now.

Eko guitars were a first for many Europeans in the ..I guess ...'60s on.

They were (are?) very reasonably priced and usually very easy to play.

However, they were very heavily made, and so didn't resonate much but for those who just wanted to play at home they were a great success and very reliable.

I've seen many over the years, and many of them were first bought in the '60s.

They are still being made, and there area few '60s one for sale on UK Ebay.

Well summed up SM.
Not expensive guitars.
I bought one in the early 1970's for my 1st 12-string and yes, it weighed a ton.
Zero fret - which they still have.
Adjustable saddle was cool but probably robbed some tone.
Very bright and treble driven.
6 on a plate tuners were terrible, I remember using pliers to turn some of them.
Maybe they've improved but I'd say there are better 12-string guitars out there.

Very bright and treble driven indeed.

Adams on Virgin UK Radio, playing what is undoubtedly the Eko.

A friend of mine still has the EKO 12 string I bought in 1968.

Yep, HEAVY and the finish was really thick. That said, it was my first and I loved it - it's still going strong.

I have a Martin now - much nicer, that said, the EKO did the job.
