No label? I would post these pics on the well-known mandolin forum that we don’t talk about here.

Old bowl back/stave back/tater bug mandolins aren’t typically worth that much compared to old Gibsons.

I don't know the maker, but the style looks like Naples rather than Rome or Catania, Sicily (the other centres of Italian mandolin making). If you do want to string it up and play it, you need an ultra-light set with 0.09" on the top - typical American string gauges tend to wreck these.

Whatever workshop it came out of, it was clearly a high end instrument. It’s not only the elaborate inlay work that points to this, but on Neapolitan-style bowlback mandolins the more ribs that make up the back and sides, the higher quality the instrument. This mandolin has lots of ribs.

This mandolin is definitely worth restoring. If the neck is still good it might just need a fret dressing and a fresh set of strings.

Vast amounts of information on Italian mandolin makers, if you want to look ("Neapolitan mandolin makers" in the sense of makers of "Neapolitan style" mandolins, not just mandolin makers based in Naples):

P.R.& F. seems to stand for Puglisi Reale & Figli
