Only if your book teaches you tabulature. It's like color by numbers... I would suggest you learn all the basic chords first. For instance G, D, C, Em, and Am are needed for this song. Then start looking at tabulature and remember that tabs are upside down... Meaning your thick string is the bottom line on a tab. The single numbers are single notes... At the beginning you would hit the B string Open then hit it while pushing down at the first fret, which is a "C" note. then strum a D chord... and so forth. Just keep at your book, and then try it.

Another easy Beatles song is Get Back. Learn your A, your D and your G chords, and then practice switching between 'em.
Having someone around to show you will make all the difference.

Plus be careful. In my experience TAB sites tend to be chock full of spyware and adware. Every time I use one, I make sure to disinfect my computer afterward, and ALWAYS find some nasty stuff.

Some dylan is very easy. Blowin' in the Wind just G, C, Am, and D (live '75 version). Some T. Rex is also very easy. Wilco, Ramones (hah easy as can be), Pink Floyd (wish you were here, welcome to the machine, etc.), Jayhawks, anything alt. country really, and some singer songwriter stuff... hell most rock in general.

Try this Backslash: Click on this link, then on the right click on "Rock", then scroll down a little and on the left click on "The Beatles". Lots and lots of chords and music on this site. Also, check out the other catagories, as you might be surprised what you might find.

Poor kid. Must feel overwhelmed by now. Most of the songs out these days, that you already know and like, are probably the best ones to learn on. That way, you already have the tune in your head, and don't have to learn that as well.
And you really don't need a suit of armor to change strings. I changed mine for years without any tuning aids. I now use a cheap string winder, and a tuner, but that has only been fairly recently. Best of luck to you in your learning. Oh, and another thing, try to hang out and play with other people who are better than you. You can learn a lot that way.

Hootie songs are also easy to learn. "Let Her Cry" is pretty much just G, C, Em and D. First song I learned!
