Why do you have more than one guitar?
Let's hear some stories and let's see some pictures!

I am trying to hold my guitar count at seven, one for each day of the week.

So who has the AGF record for most guitars?

Why do painters have more than one brush? Why do you have more than one pair of shoes? Different day, different mood, different song, different sound, different vibe. A change is as good as a rest.

I have noticed, though, that 'GAS' doesn't seem to be GAS for most people here... it seems that far more people have a relaxed, revolving door, system for guitars; they acquire but they also 'pare down' and 'thin the herd' etc. I sold a Telecaster when I was very young (because I was broke, struggling and stupid) and I have a 12 string for sale right now (because I'm going in a different direction) but otherwise never sold a guitar. So, I have a lot because... I keep 'em. Maybe I'm too attached but I love them, which is why I bought them in the first place.

Growler: LOL, exactly, yeah. I just tell her, "But they all sound so different, honey," which you know is KINDA true.

Funny you should mention that, cuz for many years we played in a worship band together. We have a small house with scarcely enough room for a baby grand, so she's been having to play very nice electric keyboards (Yamaha) that I've bought her. But last month a friend of hers married a guy from the Bahamas and is going to lend us her baby grand for a year of two while she moves there. We'll squeeze it in somewhere.

Now that she has her real piano, I can finally feel less guilty about acquiring even more guitars, haha.

I'm actually an English prof by trade but last year I started to peddle a little vintage on the side, so I have five grand set aside at this point. We shall see....

Let's just say that I honestly looked at your poll and thought, "why does it stop at 5?"

I expanded over the years to 8 and now am selling off a couple and will be down to 5 or 6. My two main guitars are a concert and a OO size. Then I have 3 parlor guitars - one laminate for travel, one at my office. And I also have a parlor that I keep Nashville strung. And I even have a banjo!
Decided to sell the crossover nylon since I have really been mostly playing steel string and love it. Really do not want to have great sounding instruments staying in their cases and not being played.

Best,
Jayne

3 - all hog 00, rose/spruce 00 and a hog/spruce 000

I'm thinking 5-6 would be the most; over time perhaps adding a travel guitar, a crossover and then maybe one with a little different wood (koa, walnut etc)

I believe I am currently at 417...wait! There goes one now. Okay 416...ooops! 2 more just came in. Make that 418.

That would be 418 and I regularly play 2 of them.

MBE, I am TOTALLY with you on this.

Suggestion to the OP: I think you should run another poll that looks more like this:

1
2-5
6-10
10-20
20-50
50+

I'm serious! This would show the true colors of the players in need of a 12-Step Guitar program.
