Default NGD Taylor AD27e

Hello Everyone,

Well, yesterday was a big day for me as I purchased my first "good" guitar - a Taylor AD27e. I have been looking at these for quite some time and my local GC offered me a good trade in on another guitar, so I pulled the trigger. It is odd because I'd never thought of myself owning a Mahogany topped guitar, but after playing this one, I was sold. Not that the Spruce top was lacking, its just that the one they had in stock didn't have a pickup and I wanted that. In my opinion, this is a beautiful guitar. The only thing I would have liked to have seen is that Taylor use black tuning machines instead of the chrome ones. The guitar sounds wonderful to my ears and I'm really stoked to own such a nice guitar.

The Taylor Aerocase that comes with this is a big step up from your standard gig bag too.. its more of a hybrid hard-soft case. Nicely padded inside too. If anyone is looking at these- be careful when it comes to the case. The GC salesman came out with a Taylor Aerocase that he said would fit this guitar when in fact it didn't! I'm glad I was there as he went back to the store room and found the actual box with the case still inside.

Thanks for looking!

Pete

Congratulations on your new Taylor. I bought the Flametop Maple version a couple weeks ago. I had been thinking about black gotohs for mine. I also added Colosi bone bridge pins last night. That rounded bass tone is addictive!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I am going to enjoy this guitar for a long time. I wish I'd have gotten it or something akin to it 10 years ago when I first picked up the guitar again. I can't tell you how important it is for me to have gotten a guitar with a 1.75" nut. I have sausage fingers and the wider nut and comfortable neck on this inspires confidence as I have greatly reduced the incidence of muted strings when fretting chords.

I just put the "Cosmo Black" Gotoh 510s on my 224ce-Koa - the look is awesome and they function perfectly.

Congrats, it looks great! I love the Aero Case too, which is more equal to a hard case than a gig bag. The hideaway shoulder straps are great....better than a hard case.
