Very nice. Congratulations, I’m glad you found one. And locally nonetheless.

Thanks, 29er!
I was looking at both of those models as well, they are outstanding, and hard to come by. That WL-S is a gorgeous instrument!

Congratulations and enjoy your Waterloo!

Here is a video comparing the WL-K to a real 1929 Kel Kroydon!

Thanks, BluesKing777!
That's one of the videos that convinced me this guitar might be right for me.
Those real Kel Kroydon's are rare as hens' teeth.

00-12’s are my favorite body style and I was able to land a WL-K about 6 months ago. I play a lot of fingerstyle gospel blues tunes and it really fits the bill for that. Lightest guitar in my arsenal by a good bit. I was led to believe that the fit and finish might be less than a true Collings, but not so with mine at least as there is no visible glue, etc.—every bit as pristine as my Collings. WL-K has become my guitar of choice for playing out. I use a soundhole pickup if needed, which has been rare thus far. Of course with Covid, playing out has been rare thus far.

Congrats on your score of the WL-K. The Waterloos are in quite short supply and many dealers don’t expect any further shipments until into next year

You did very well to find one locally and jump on it. I have one and it is an incredible guitar for fingerstyle.

You likely know, but in case the seller did not explain, this is the lightest waterloo made, so with the ultra light build, collins recommends the 11 gauge "custom light" strings to make sure no stress to the guitar. I suspect people get away with lights, but with the light build it is so responsive to the 11 gauge strings and they play so nice and sound incredible.

That guitar makes my whole left arm vibrate, it is quite something to feel the resonance.

Brilliant, congratulations!
I’m a big fan of the Waterloo line, they’re quite rare here in the uk but I’ve managed to get myself a wl-14, wl-14 hog and jumbo king.

Another UK owner here (WL-14) from the first year of production.

Just incredible guitars. I'm embarrassed to admit I recently considered selling it to fund something else but quickly came to my senses

It's the one that didn't get away
