Guitar pick made from one dollar coin
This is made by the son of a friend of mine in Tennessee, and some of the musicians down there like it, including Gruhn's guitar store.

I love the looks of it. Definitely the prettiest metal pick I've seen. I have bought metal picks on more than one occasion, because I want to like them. Alas, they sound gawdawful, at least on acoustic. Haven't tried on electric. Plus, they rip the strings to sheds in no time. [emoji53]

I like a soft to medium stiff pick. So for me these are worth about a dollar. Neat idea though !

Nice. I could never play with a non-flex pick though. I also need 'em pretty thin, like .6mm. Is it not against the law to do that to currency?

I think they're nice to hang around your neck or have as earring, keyring or other type of ring, or something to wear on your belt, just as semi precious stone, but for playing they're not adviced. These things just don't scratch a bit of finish off but can leave unrepairable marks.
And knowing that it's quite easy to let go of a pick in a down or up stroke it might even fly into someone's eye or drink. Ludwig |
