Default Needed a sunday football guitar!

I like watching football, playing guitar and drinking beer on sundays. After a few nicks here and there on expensive guitars, I decided I need a "football guitar". I found a Alverez af60 solid top for $189 on musicians friend. Revues looked good but never bought a guitar on line before. It is coming soon.... any thoughts? Ever play one?

on that particular guitar? no, but congrats. enjoy it.

on the concept, i love having a "couch" guitar near me at all times while watching sporting events. over the last decade, some of the ones i've used in that role are:

guild gad-30
eastman e60m
recording king ros-10 (i think that was the model. it's a 12 fret slot head 000-18)
but now, my couch ax is an eastman ac322

it's the biggest one yet--in that division. i did like the smaller ones (especially the 000-18), but it's not too big that i can't lounge and play. my little phone recording/memo app is full of ideas that come to me while noodling around, and also have the sounds of the tube in the background.

and just today at lunch, i started this little idea.it's great to do these, then take them to the daw and work them out. for some reason, the tv opens up the creative side of my brain...go figure.

I've never played the particular model, but that was a wise choice on your end.

just looked up a couple videos that particular guitar, and the specs. it looks perfect for what you want it for, and the sound (two little youtube sound checks) is pretty nice.

enjoy!

i don't blame you. the ac322 that i use for the couch was bought used, and it already had some scratches on it. having owned a few eastmans, i know how delicate they can be. this one is--for all intent and purposes--my beater.

i hope you enjoy your new guitar, when it arrives.

Alvarez is the top of the food chain of solid top/lam sides and back. You'll enjoy the guitar.

I have bought a couple inexpensive couch/outdoors/vacation guitars to only find them sitting on the sidelines. I always end up grabbing something that I feel sounds much nicer to my ears, so I am now on the lookout for a really cosmetically beat up, but musically intact OM/000 to use as my beater. I have come close to pulling the trigger, just haven't found the right one yet. But checking out the used guitars at the stores is fun anyhow.
