Good idea. Or for a place like Strings & Beyond or even Stewart-MacDonald.

How about a metronome? A nice old fashioned, real wooden one - much more satisfying to play with than the online ones, and a nice gift.

I saw a nice Hawaiian shirt a short time ago that was covered in acoustic guitars. I thought it would be a cool gift.

Do they gig a lot? Custom picks are great for guitarists to give away.

I'm not sure what your budget is, but a Sound Seat would be at the top of my list.

A proper old style wooden metronome is a great suggestion - I received one of these a few years ago as a Xmas present, and it still has pride of place in the room that I use for practice.

What about a couple of CDs by artists that you think he/she may appreciate - by people that they perhaps are currently unaware of?
