Default Finger -ease

Does anybody still use this stuff? I needed it Friday evening because it was sticky out. It was the last shot ;so I just bought two more cans. It works great for me! My hands get so sticky in the coming warm months. I know most Techs and guitar players hate it cause it's bad for your guitar, but Ive been using it for as long as it's been around,so problems here.

I've got a bottle hanging around from the '80, which probably let's you know how often I use it.

I used to use it a lot back in the day on electrics. We played a lot outside and in the damp climate of south Louisiana. Sometimes your hands would get sticky. Now that I only play at home, I rarely use it. Less is more when it comes to Finger Ease.

If someone with grimy hands plays my guitar I'll use it. I wash my hands before playing my guitars.

I love the way it smells.

I used to use it a lot during the 1970’s and early 80’s, when I lived in the humid climates of Kansas City and Chicago. But since 1982, when I moved to Alaska, I haven’t needed it.

Ditto above... used to use it way back when... wouldn't use it now unless I absolutely had to... and I can't think of anything would cause me to absolutely have to

I used to use that stuff when I was a sprout. Never liked it.

Baby powder. I was watching a Santana concert and noticed he used a handful of the stuff at times. It was literally caked on his hand. I used to have to deal with summer humidity here in the Midwest when I was playing live electric rock and roll. After seeing Santana use it, I started keeping a little container I could dip my fingers into as needed. Worked great. Though most of my playing is done in a temperature and humidity controlled studio these days, I still use it occasionally...sometimes I just sweat. Of course, not the best thing for strings, but also not as bad as you might think. Give it a try. Better than that nasty finger ease stuff.

Has anyone ever damaged a guitar with Finger Ease, lots of speculation but has anyone experienced damage?

I don't know why it's bad for a guitar? I first began using it in the late 70's when it was ether based. I'd spray both my neck and my left hand till they were dripping. And I was standing in a cloud of it on stage. Usually with a cigarette hanging out of my mouth. It's a wonder it never ignited.

The stuff today smells like Pledge.

Used to buy it by the case. Still have some. Wish I'd have taken it with me to Buckner last weekend. But I got through it.

It never damaged any of my guitars !!!

I've used it for decades. Love it.

My hands are dry, always have been.

If your hands are grimy, you don't need it, it's for dry hands/strings.

Still have a can in the studio for nostalgic effect (next to “ON AIR” light box) but dont use it anymore. Did use it from early 80s to mid 90s with no ill-effects. Not that you would notice on my guitars from those days…

I used it in the 60s but haven't used it since.

No and I used it for a long time in the 70s to the 90s. This was mainly on Les Pauls and Strats. I only had one acoustic back in the day and I used Finger Ease on that as well.
