My acoustic bass does this also with stainless steel round-wounds, although the bite seems to disguise the bark a good bit.

Are you always playing the guitar in the same room and in the same standing/seated position in relation to the room's walls and furniture even after trying different strings? If so, try a different bodily orientation within your usual playing room and try a different room.
